Chairs and canopies are provides for the Saturday Garden Talks.
All talks, including the workshop, are free. Our Open Houses provide an opportunity to see the type of plants we grow and ship in our Mail Order Business. It's an opportunity to visit our 10 acres of farmland slowly becoming a habitat for birds, butterflies, and other wildlife. Also it is home to geese, peacocks, many cats and one dog.
Friday and Saturday 9am - 4pm
Late summer is always a beautiful time of the year on the farm. Asters begin blooming out in the meadows and the fields
of Goldenrods aren't far behind. Woodland Goldenrods brighten shady spots. Blue seedpods of Blue Cohosh and Doll's
Eyes delight the sight. Ferns are in splendor and so is Black Cohosh. One species finishing as another species starts.
The Native Orchids of Lady's Tresses are getting ready for their October bloom. And who can forget the Gentians of
late summer.
10 AM Saturday. Jacquelin Doyle, the owner and a laborer of Doyle Farm Nursery, is leading a tour of the farm's new landscaping. "30 years ago, Doyle Farm was planted mostly in Ornamentals. Now I am incorporating native plants into the established gardens." A new way of gardening - 'Mother Planting'. Using Mother Nature as our guide.
Members of the New England Wildflower Society, with a 2009 card, receive a 10% discount.
